Updating spaces in your home takes time. When you work with Wineteer Construction, our experts will support you every step of the way. Keep reading for a behind-the-scenes look at one of our client’s projects.

All of these steps were recently covered with a client from the South Plaza/Brookside area who wanted to update the master bath, guest bath and kitchen in their home. Keep reading to learn more about this project.

Behind the Scenes Access: Deconstruction
Like any other remodeling project, removing current elements and fixtures from the room is the first step to creating your desired renovations.

Our team began this project by installing ZipWalls and plastic sheeting to contain any dust and debris that is created during deconstruction and installation.

After lining the doorways, our team proceeded to remove unnecessary cabinetry and elements from the kitchen to make space for new ones.

Behind the Scenes Access: Material Choices
Both the kitchen and bathrooms required updates to current materials, including tiles.

Our friends at Daltile provided wonderful tile options for the different spaces:

MSI gave us the best options for the kitchen backsplash:

Lastly, SCI provided the best countertops for all rooms:

The Final Product: A Sneak Peek
The completed project ensured the spaces have a fresh, updated look. The colors used throughout the rooms create great contrast, and our client is a happy home owner.

We will be sharing more details about this project in upcoming posts. Stay tuned and be ready to get inspired for your next remodeling project.

Functionality and Style: Building the Kitchen of Your Dreams

When it comes to remodeling a space in your home, having experienced and knowledgeable contractors is a key element to ensure that your project represents your vision, respects your budget and is finished within a suitable timeframe.

Our experts at Wineteer Construction always ensure to provide precise planning, designing, pricing, and execution to create spaces in your home that address your needs and exceed your expectations.

For the kitchen project below, our clients had a true focus on the intersection of functionality and style. They wanted their kitchen to provide plenty of storage space, accessibility to move around, functionality and style.

Creating the Kitchen of Our Clients’ Dreams
With our clients’ vision in mind, our team developed a design plan that included new wooden cabinets, granite countertops and light-colored natural stone tile for the backsplash.

All available space was utilized for cabinets. We installed rollout shelves for the base cabinets so that our clients could easily access items from the lower shelves. The island was designed to contain accessible cabinet space and seating space near to the functional work area, to ensure people can come together.

Considering style, the granite countertops make a beautiful contrast with the dark cabinets and light hardwood floors. To bring everything together, the stainless-steel appliances add brightness, opening up the room.

The final product is a kitchen that is welcoming, open, stylish and highly functional. It is a space where our clients can entertain and spend quality time.

A “Climate Controlled” Room Addition

Room additions are very special projects that tend to challenge the creativity of professionals. Whether the project entails dividing a room into multiple spaces, or building a new room adjacent to the home, additions need to look seamless, like they were always intended to be part of the house’s design, and that is exactly what we did for our client.

Wanting to have a room with a separate heating and cooling system, our client reached out to Wineteer to build a room adjacent to the master bedroom that would always be at 50ºF.

Taking into consideration the current design of the house and placement of the current rooms, our team decided to close in the balcony leading out of the master bedroom.

The changes to the space included the following:

  • The arched columns were removed and walls were built with window panes that led to a 180º view of the outdoors.
  • The stamped floor was updated to match the hardwood floors of the interior.
  • French doors were incorporated to ensure the beautiful view from outside was accessible from the main bedroom.
  • A separate heating and cooling system was installed, ensuring our client would always be able to enjoy a preferred temperature.

Outside of providing our client with a space specific to his likes, we also made an update to the home that didn’t change the structure or looked out of place. Best of all, the views from the space are just as incredible as before.

Gather and Share: A Kitchen Update

As a space to gather and share, the kitchen is a deserving room for home updates. Looking to make the space more inviting and functional, our clients reached out to Wineteer to make updates that would add modernism and style while focusing on functionality.

Extending the Space in Style
With cabinets extending beyond the prepping areas, the kitchen embraced an open concept that would keep those in the kitchen and the living room interacting and spending quality time together.

The white cabinets, alongside all of the stainless steel appliances and marble countertops, provide a touch of modernism. Most importantly, the kitchen looks spacious and inviting.

A clear cabinet was also included as part of the kitchen to create contrast and to differentiate between the areas for prepping and entertaining.

From cocktail parties to full-on holiday meals, our clients will be able to host their friends and family in a renewed, modern and functional space, made just for them.

Comfort-Based Design: A Bathroom Transformation

When it comes to remodeling projects, our experts at Wineteer Construction will ensure to make your vision a reality by not only providing their expertise in design and construction but also keeping your needs a priority.

For the bathroom remodeling project below, our clients had a vision that focused on their present as much as their future.

Our clients’ elderly parents visit from time to time, so they wanted to have a bathroom that would accommodate the parents’ mobility needs while creating a space that would serve them in the future.

Navigating the Intricacies of (lack of) Space
The original space was quite small. Containing the standard bathroom amenities, the space was not Aging in Place friendly.

To work around the issues with space, our experts decided to create a wet room, a completely water-proofed bathroom with the shower leveled the same as the rest of the floor. By doing so, our team added space to the bathroom and removed any unnecessary barriers that blocked mobility.

The design of the bathroom is contemporary, with niches in the walls for storing items or adding decorations, a heated mirror and a modern sink and showerheads.

The new bathroom design is functional and modern, ensuring that both our clients and their visitors are comfortable.

A Kitchen Update with Style

Kitchens are very special places because of their multifunctionality. From cooking to enjoying a warm beverage with friends, kitchens bring people together. Think about the times you have gone to visit friends or have hosted friends for an event. Have you noticed that people tend to make their way to the kitchen?

Could it be the welcoming spaces for chatter and catching up? The fridge with snacks or the glasses waiting to be filled with beverages? Maybe it’s the oven, where the delicious baking happens. Regardless of your reason for hanging out in a kitchen, one idea behind the space is common: It is a very important part of a home.

For the project below, our experts made updates that transformed our customer’s kitchen into a reflection of their style and need of functional space.

The updates included the following:

  • The double ovens were relocated to a more open location.
  • The utility room and the kitchen were connected to allow for more counter space.
  • A steam oven was installed on top of the double ovens.
  • The dishwasher was moved up off the floor; this is an update we always suggest to clients when the floor plans allow for it.
  • Aesthetic enhancements were added by installing glass tile up the wall and around the ventilation hood.
  • Contrast between the surfaces was created by installing different materials on different counters; we used concrete for some of the counters and granite for others.
  • Traditional white cabinets were installed to create an elegant and beautiful feel in the room while allowing more options for the decorations surrounding them.

Overall, the updates added space and functionality as well as an eclectic style that made the kitchen even more welcoming and beautiful.

Make that Special Place in your Home this Holiday Season

‘Tis the season to deck the halls! Let us create that special place that will last way beyond the holiday season.

Nick and Mike understand that no two projects are alike, which is why we rely on a systematic approach that is focused on providing the best design to bring our customers’ vision to life.

Modern functionality without losing focus on the home’s original architecture.
Do you have a dysfunctional kitchen that just looks out of place? Need a few fresh ideas to start envisioning your kitchen with added space and functionality? The project below is a great example!

Times have changed and so has the kitchen. Some houses just demand a certain style and presence, and this home is certainly one of those–it had an old, out-of-date kitchen from the 1970s misplaced in a stone house from the 1920s. The house had a traditional servant’s kitchen and back entrance that did not look grand, as was the case in those days.

To provide a modern look while preserving the historic value of the house’s architecture, we recreated the front entry’s cased opening with leaded stained glass, matched ribbon mahogany on the cabinets and trim just like the dining room, and tied in leaded stained glass at the cabinets. The backsplash was designed to keep that servant’s kitchen feel, but with grandeur, reclaiming marble pavers from the property.

New kitchen cabinets

  New kitchen cabinets

Pulling together a tedious unrelenting effort and a painstaking design with the convenience of modern appliances, coupled with the functionality of new cabinets, gave us a timeless kitchen. It is hard to distinguish between what is old and what is new. It is a seamless integration of style from another era, and functionality from today’s ever-changing environment.

The final result from this incredible kitchen renovation is a spacious and modern kitchen that looks like it could have been designed and built by the original team from 1920. It is perfect for making holiday memories.
