Every remodeling project that our Wineteer Construction team leads is supported by our extensive knowledge and expertise, guided by functionality and comfort, and, most importantly, focused on our customers’ needs. Making each and every project we finish just as unique as the next!
For this kitchen update, our customer needed to find a better use of the space available that would keep comfort and functionality at the top of the list. In particular, they had a special blue range and hood in mind that was a must for the project. Our team helped the client create a beautiful space that utilized as much space as possible while blending the color palette to fit with the style of the home overall. The end result? A beautiful blue French country galley kitchen.
Color, Texture and Contrast
Starting with the overall look of the kitchen, our design team at Wineteer Construction worked with our customer to develop a color palette based on the desired range, that would make the place feel spacious and light, while perfectly accenting the range and hood combo. Patterned blue and cream-colored tile did most of the work for us. With the addition of some stainless steel appliances and gold accents, the color palette was finished!
By using subway tile and pencil rail to accent the arabesque tile, the backsplash does not overpower the desired focal point of the range but has its own elegance to contribute. Continuing with the gold accents, our client opted to include a beautifully intricate, golden light fixture that adds a touch of modernity to the room, while maintaining the elegance.
Surprises in Every Corner
Outside of the strategic placement of the appliances throughout the kitchen, our team centered the back door to increase wall space for cabinets and added a semi-hidden dog door where the door was previously. You might not have noticed it if we didn’t point it out! This unique addition adds ease and comfort to the room, making letting the dog outside, white cooking, something that doesn’t even require a thought!

The holidays are here, and it is a perfect time to reflect on the special spaces in the home where families gather in celebration.
Today, we want to share about a fun and family-oriented kitchen remodeling project, where every space updated was focused on accessibility and functionality.
From the ground up, our team created a spacious and welcoming gathering place for family members to share not only meals but also memories. Here’s the scoop on all the updates:
From every angle, our client’s kitchen is open, warm and welcoming. We are very grateful to have been trusted to update a space so important to our client and to make it perfect for every gathering.

Remember our client in South Plaza/Brookside and their plans to remodel the bathrooms and kitchen in their home? We are making great progress on the project!
After choosing the materials for the project, we started deconstruction, taking both rooms down to the studs! This blank canvas allowed us to utilize as much space as possible. Notice the addition of a shower window, to add natural light, and the lack of wall between the kitchen and dining areas!
Kitchen
Sage, gray and white are the chosen colors for the kitchen. The combination displays calm, cleanliness and joy. It is the perfect color combination to bring more light into the room, make the space more welcoming and open for quality family time. The original plan was to checkerboard the entire kitchen floor, but after looking at the start of installation, our client decided to make it even cooler by framing the graphic tile with the checkerboard pattern. Notice some of the other cool additions to the cabinetry- double trash pull out, rollout shelving, and stained wood accents.
Master Bathroom
Gray and yellow are the chosen colors for the master bathroom. The combination brings light into the room. The graphic and colorful tiles are a modern twist on a classic style. The new look welcomes you in with the air of happiness and rest that all master bathrooms should provide. If you remember the recent post about our in-house designed medicine cabinets, you can see how much storage that vertical area can give you!
Our client is very excited to see this project completed and so are we! Check back soon to see the final product, as well as the start of the guest bath, remodel!
Get ready for a fun and colorful kitchen update! Our client in Overland Park wanted to bring light and style to their kitchen without changing the overall layout.
In order to achieve our client’s vision, our team got to work and did the following:
We replaced and painted the cabinet doors and drawer fronts and boxes to make them the focal point of the kitchen. Seafoam was the color of choice. The natural light from the windows and door as well as the plants living in front of the windows help to make the color pop, while keeping it from grating on the senses.
We incorporated glass in the cabinets above the sink to tie in the idea of light as well as create a visual break from the color. This was also done to emulate the openness of the windows beneath the cabinets.
This particular kitchen has a lot of counter space, both around the walls and with an island that is perfect for prepping and quick cleanup thanks to a small bar sink.
To provide a space for eating, we added a two-person breakfast bar. For work, we updated the color of the cabinet doors of the already-included secretary desk; this ties the space together, giving unity and separation via the slight variation in color.
The final result is a kitchen that looks and feels spacious, it is stylish and has all the elements to help our clients live their best life.

Home remodeling projects are impacted by a variety of factors: the uses of the rooms, the square footage of the different spaces, your budget for the project and so much more. Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused families to spend more time at home. More time at home for most meant more time spent in the kitchen, whether cooking or cleaning. More time in the kitchen has also led to a desire for a new updated design.
According to the 2021 U.S. Houzz Kitchen Trends Study, the most requested updates to the kitchen brought by the pandemic include:
Increased Storage: More time in the kitchen can really make you think about your pains and dislikes about the current layout, color, style, or even just how you could use the space more efficiently. One of the most common kitchen renovations is updating cabinetry. Specifically, Houzz shared that homeowners have the need for more cabinet and pantry space.
Changes in Openness: While many homeowners have opted for having an open-concept floor plan that connects the kitchen to other social rooms of the house, these renovations have actually decreased. Instead, more people are designing the kitchen as a separate room. However, connecting the kitchen with an outdoor space is a rising trend.

Behind the Scenes Access: Deconstruction
Like any other remodeling project, removing current elements and fixtures from the room is the first step to creating your desired renovations.
Our team began this project by installing ZipWalls and plastic sheeting to contain any dust and debris that is created during deconstruction and installation.
After lining the doorways, our team proceeded to remove unnecessary cabinetry and elements from the kitchen to make space for new ones.
Behind the Scenes Access: Material Choices
Both the kitchen and bathrooms required updates to current materials, including tiles.
Our friends at Daltile provided wonderful tile options for the different spaces:
MSI gave us the best options for the kitchen backsplash:
Lastly, SCI provided the best countertops for all rooms:
The Final Product: A Sneak Peek

For the kitchen project below, our clients had a true focus on the intersection of functionality and style. They wanted their kitchen to provide plenty of storage space, accessibility to move around, functionality and style.
Creating the Kitchen of Our Clients’ Dreams
With our clients’ vision in mind, our team developed a design plan that included new wooden cabinets, granite countertops and light-colored natural stone tile for the backsplash.
All available space was utilized for cabinets. We installed rollout shelves for the base cabinets so that our clients could easily access items from the lower shelves. The island was designed to contain accessible cabinet space and seating space near to the functional work area, to ensure people can come together.
Considering style, the granite countertops make a beautiful contrast with the dark cabinets and light hardwood floors. To bring everything together, the stainless-steel appliances add brightness, opening up the room.
The final product is a kitchen that is welcoming, open, stylish and highly functional. It is a space where our clients can entertain and spend quality time.

As a space to gather and share, the kitchen is a deserving room for home updates. Looking to make the space more inviting and functional, our clients reached out to Wineteer to make updates that would add modernism and style while focusing on functionality.
Extending the Space in Style
With cabinets extending beyond the prepping areas, the kitchen embraced an open concept that would keep those in the kitchen and the living room interacting and spending quality time together.
The white cabinets, alongside all of the stainless steel appliances and marble countertops, provide a touch of modernism. Most importantly, the kitchen looks spacious and inviting.
A clear cabinet was also included as part of the kitchen to create contrast and to differentiate between the areas for prepping and entertaining.
From cocktail parties to full-on holiday meals, our clients will be able to host their friends and family in a renewed, modern and functional space, made just for them.
